15 years since the debut of the New Dulles Bags in 2009
An iconic presence representing the brand has undergone a new evolution
The F6 model was born.
New Dulles Bag with a two-layer structure featuring a PC compartment in addition to the main room
We spoke with the developer who challenges 'non-standard manufacturing.'

(Right at the start) Thank you for your hard work.
Ah, thank you very much.
The interview is over, isn't it?
No, no, this is just the beginning, from now on.
The planning of this F6 was a long journey.
Finally reached it.
Yes.
There have always been voices from New Dulles users asking for more storage capacity, increasing storage while maintaining that style.
Simply making it longer or widening the gusset wouldn't solve it, so it was a challenge I kept exploring on how to balance New Dulles and storage capacity.
At first, the direction was to enlarge the size with only the main storage.
At the idea stage, several concepts came up, one of which was to add another layer to the back.
But is it technically possible to add another layer to the back while maintaining the New Dulles style...?
Honestly, my first impression when I saw the two-layer sample for the first time was surprise.
I thought, "Can it be made with this kind of structure? Is this the New Dulles!?"
I'm sorry I can't explain it concretely, but it was thanks to the pattern maker's skill that it was somehow materialized.
I believe this style was realized precisely because of the experience I have.
A feature of recent patterns is that there are more opportunities to seek three-dimensional shapes, and I think it's because of the experience I've built up so far.
Â

Even as it evolves like this, I personally am happy that it maintains the original structure from the beginning.
Staggered stitching connecting the front body and the left and right bodies.
(laughs) It's a geeky part, but it's an indispensable part to express the three-dimensionality of New Dulles.
Normally, the parts to be overlapped and sewn are joined edge to edge and sewn with a staggered stitch (zigzag stitch).
It is an inconspicuous backside part, but it is because of this manufacturing method that the shape of New Dulles can be expressed.
At the time of development in 2009, it was really a continuous trial and error on how to make it three-dimensional, and it can be said that New Dulles was completed because this part was solved.
In the first place, the 'frame vertically long Dulles Bags' shape did not exist before New Dulles, so it may be said to be an unconventional manufacturing different from previous bag making.
- Visually, the dot pattern on the surface is distinctive.
I think the geometric dot pattern suits the distinctive look of the New Dulles very well.
The main material uses Italian full vegetable tanning leather, mixing processed dot patterns and unprocessed parts.
The pattern tends to catch the eye, but it is a very luxurious leather taken only from the best part of the leather called double shoulder.
Since it is tanned to bring out the original goodness of the leather, it has the leather-like wrinkles and unevenness, and I think you can also enjoy the changes in expression over time.
Â

- I tried wearing it and felt comfortable.
I think the cushioning with an additional layer on the part that touches the back contributes to the wearing comfort.
And the backpack belt.
This time, although it became two-layered, the weight is almost the same as before, and because it contains an aluminum frame, it may feel heavy when held by hand, but I think it does not feel that much burden when worn.
The belt uses 'ZeRoG fit'.
By softening and deforming with the body's heat to fit the shape of the shoulder, the weight is distributed and feels lighter, so I think you can carry it without burden even if the capacity has increased.
