In ARTPHERE’s new series, fabrics from LIMONTA, a long-established Italian fabric manufacturer with over 120 years of history, are used.
The technical skills accumulated over its long history are trusted by luxury brands worldwide, and the fabrics produced are truly top-class.
By combining this with ARTPHERE’s frame, a new work was born that fits the modern work scene.

The new square Dulles backpack gives a sophisticated impression with its straight silhouette, while the fabric’s richly textured wrinkles create a moderate relaxed feel.
The square shape excels in storage efficiency, allowing you to neatly store documents and laptops, and the quick-open system enables fast access to the interior.
We asked the developer about the behind-the-scenes process of how a modern backpack that fits a wide range of business styles was created.
- The new work this time features a square silhouette as a visual characteristic.
That's right, when making a product, you usually have to remake samples several times before it finally becomes the product, but this time it changed quite a bit from the 1st sample.
The idea to make it in a square shape was there from the start, but as we added functions like pockets and so on, the fabric would get eaten up, causing it to break and lose its straight lines.
We decided to insert piano wire to resolve that.
You probably won’t notice at a glance, but there is a piano wire running all around the front of the bag.
It can solve folding issues without changing the appearance, and also resolves the gap between soft and hard parts that develop with use. It’s killing two birds with one stone.
However, adding piano wire greatly changed the assembly structure, requiring major changes like swapping the interior front and back from the first sample.

-Why did you focus on the square silhouette?
There is a recent trend for square shapes, and during new product development, we conducted test sales with variations in fabric and pocket placement, and proceeded to produce the most popular type.
The shape is suitable for carrying PCs and documents, but it doesn’t look like just a work bag, so the square silhouette & LIMONTA combination was popular in test sales.
This combination is also supported by women, and it has actually led to purchases on the spot.
I think the design is also impressive because it is functional yet simple, with features like a hidden zipper on the front pocket and water-resistant zippers in some parts.
-The wrinkle texture of the fabric also catches the eye. It’s not ordinary...
That's right. We used LIMONTA nylon for the main fabric.
Due to bonding processing, it has a three-layer structure, characterized by unique wrinkles appearing on the surface.
LIMONTA fabric is woven with high density, so it has firmness and resilience with an elegant sheen.
Originally, it did not have water repellency, but we had special water-repellent processing added to withstand sudden rain.
−Is the backpack belt ZeRoG fit?
Yes, it is a belt that softens and deforms with body heat to fit the shape of the shoulder.
We have adopted the Tondo leather, which was well received when introduced.
If the bag feels lighter and reduces the burden on the body and shoulders, commuting will become much more comfortable.
